Tarte fine aux pommes

We love something sweet on Sunday afternoon. This one is my mom’s favorite.

Tarte fine aux pommes
Thin and crispy French style apple tart

Serves 4, prep 10 min bake 20 min @ 190 °C


  • 200 g butter puff pastry
  • 3 apples, peeled, halved and cored
  • 2 tablespoons raw cane sugar
  • Pinch cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon apricot jam or apple marmalade to glaze (optional)
  1. Preheat the oven at 190 °C. Roll out the puff pastry and line a rectangular or small round tart shape with the dough. Prick with a fork.
  2. Sprinkle one tablespoon sugar on the dough. Cut each Apple halve in thin slices and arrange on the tart shape. Sprinkle wit the rest of the sugar and a pinch of cinnamon.
  3. Bake for 20 min at 190 °C. Or until the dough is golden and the apples are colored
  4. Optional: glaze the tart with 1 teaspoon jam diluted in 1 teaspoon water, using a silicon brush.
  5. Serve lightly warm or at room temperature.
