Chocolaterie Van der Donk [1]

It’s been 30 days,

too many chewed lollipop sticks,

and supposedly 166.73 Euros spared,…

since I discovered my new chocolate heaven, the Chocolaterie from Pimm and Marcel van der Donk.

I was on a keep-yourself-busy-thou-shalt-not-smoke expedition that had taken me all the way to Amsterdam. I walked a lot, shopped a little and made it through most of the day nervously but surely, smoke free. Until, inevitably, I felt cold turkey.

That’s right then that I stumbled upon my salvation of the day… Pimm van der Donk welcomed me with open arms in his chocolate heaven. I don’t know if my distress was so obvious when I passed the door, but he had it cured in minutes with a taste of his lovely assortment of fine chocolates. Out of all, he chose for me a perfectly sized, fruity and fragrant chocolate with apricot and lavender. For a bite, I was right back in Provence. Mmmm…

Then, he took me through their beautifully curated chocolate wall of fame, guiding me along a mind-blowing Chocolate world tour: from Bali, Brasil and Madagascar (Åkesson’s) via Brooklyn – New York (Fine & Raw), back to Europe… through Barcelona(Blanxart), Sicily (Dona Elvira), The French Rhone valley (Valrhona) and the Savoie (Chocolat Bonnat) and so many more

I left the place with the head full of chocolate dreams and a little box of heaven.

Thx so much Pimm!
